Celebrity Beauty Treatments Revealed Ahead Of TIFF

August 14, 2024

With TIFF just around the corner, we’ve been hankering for an inside look at the little-known beauty treatments celebrities rely on to get red-carpet ready. Thankfully, renowned Toronto dermatologist Dr. Kristy Bailey was available to give us the scoop! —Vita Daily

With TIFF just around the corner, what non-invasive beauty treatments are your celebrity clients opting for to achieve that red-carpet-ready look?

Many of my celebrity patients opt for radiofrequency microneedling to stimulate collagen and tighten the skin with minimal downtime. It’s one of the latest breakthroughs in non-surgical skin tightening and lifting for the face and neck. Some of my celebrity patients are also using it post-partum for loose skin on the abdomen.

Eyebrow Hair Transplants are gaining popularity for perfectly sculpted brows. Can you explain how this procedure works and why it’s becoming a go-to for celebrities?

Eyebrow hair transplants are a permanent way to get the brows you’ve always wanted. Microblading is falling out of favour as they can be done incorrectly and can fade over time. With eyebrow transplants we use hair from your scalp, removed one by one under a microscope, and insert it into the eyebrows for the perfect density and shape. Eyebrow transplants are scarless and natural using your own hair! The only downside is that the eyebrow hairs will grow so long you will need to trim them once a week!

Aquagold Hair + Scalp Microneedling with 24K gold needles sounds luxurious! How does this treatment contribute to luscious locks, and what results can clients expect?

Microneedling of the scalp has been shown to stimulate growth factor production and hair growth; combined with essential hair vitamins, the aquagold hair + scalp microneedling can really help grow new hair and strengthen existing hair.

Skin Boosters are known to rejuvenate and refresh tired skin. Can you share some insights into how these treatments work and why they’re essential for maintaining a youthful, radiant complexion before a big event like TIFF?

Skin boosters are made up of chopped up bits of filler. Filler is very hydrophilic and loves to draw in water. Skin boosters are a great way to hydrate the skin from the inside out without adding volume to areas on the face that don’t require extra volume like the laugh lines around the mouth.

Non-surgical solutions for fine lines and under-eye crepiness are becoming increasingly popular. What options do you offer, and how do they help stars maintain a youthful appearance without going under the knife?

The best non-surgical solution for fine lines is Botox, hands down. Crepiness under the eyes is difficult to treat but I have found the most effective options to be CO2 laser and PRP. CO2 laser fractionated has really changed the game of non-surgical solutions for under eye crepey skin, offering much less downtime than traditional CO2 lasers. This is the go-to for my celebrity and high-profile patients that have limited downtime.
