As the holiday season approaches, Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO) are spreading cheer with the return of their beloved Milk and Cookies campaign. Now in its sixth year, this heartwarming initiative brings joy to children spending the holidays in Ontario hospitals. Through a $500,000 annual donation to SickKids and other children’s hospitals—totaling over $3 million since 2019—DFO is ensuring the season shines a little brighter for families in need.
The Magic Milk Glass Tradition
At the heart of the campaign is the Magic Milk Glass, a festive keepsake designed by kids for kids. These glasses, complete with playful drawings and matching cookie cutters, are distributed to children in hospitals so they too can partake in the cherished tradition of leaving milk and cookies for Santa. For kids who can’t be home for Christmas Eve, it’s a magical way to stay connected to the holiday spirit.
New This Year: The Magic Milk Truck
This year marks an exciting first for the campaign—the Magic Milk Truck. On Saturday, November 23, the truck will roll into Shops at Don Mills, serving up free Ontario milk and cookies from 10:00 AM until supplies run out. Families visiting the truck can also participate in the campaign by submitting their own drawings for a chance to be featured on the Magic Milk Glasses.
Join the Festive Fun
From November 13 to 26, DFO is inviting families across Ontario to join in the holiday tradition. Share your child’s artwork using the hashtag #MagicMilkGlass and tag @ontariodairy on social media, or stop by the Magic Milk Truck on November 23 to submit in person. These drawings will help spread holiday joy to kids at hospitals, keeping the magic of Santa alive even in challenging times.
Spreading Cheer One Glass at a Time
Through the Milk and Cookies campaign, Dairy Farmers of Ontario remind us of the power of community and small gestures to bring big smiles. Whether you’re sipping milk, nibbling cookies, or creating art for a worthy cause, this initiative invites everyone to be part of the holiday magic.
Mark your calendar for November 23 and share your creative spirit to help make this season special for kids who need it most. For more details, visit ontariodairy.ca. —Vita Daily
