Peekaboo! Brit designer Anya Hindmarch is back for another collaboration with everyone’s favourite Japanese retailer.
The collection, titled “An Eye for Curiosity,” comprises pieces for grownups and kids including caps and mittens, merino and cashmere sweaters, plus the coolest shirt jacket we’ve ever seen. Bonus: the latter is made with recycled materials. All feature Hindmarch’s signature eye motif and mouth details, which can be positioned together to make a little face. “Having the eye motif here and the mouth here makes it so that you can play, especially if you’re a child. A child can use the sweater to help indicate whether they’re happy or they’re sad. And that’s a fun part of the storytelling,” Hindmarch said in a designer interview with Uniqlo. The colours, including bright pink and tomato red add to the playful vibe, as well as some of the details—such as outside seams, and stitching in contrasting shades. “It’s all about play. I hope that you want to shrug these items on and wear them so much that they become like your best friend,” Hindmarch says.
The collection launches on November 22. Prices range from $9.90 for socks to $159.90 for that jacket. —Aileen Lalor
