The Comedy Department is absolutely the best in Vancouver improv, and taking their show on the road for two nights, November 28 and 29 at The Evergreen Cultural Centre in Port Coquitlam. A Very Special Holiday Comedy Variety Show features surprise guests, live music, and “plenty of laugh out loud comedy to keep you giggling all night long.”
The Arts Club Theatre Company’s production of Miracle on 34th Street runs until December 29 at the Granville Island Stage. The festive and fabulous Hollywood Harmonies takes place at the VIFF on 1 date only, December 15th, and you don’t want to miss it. Film scholar Michael van den Bos hosts a show that highlights the best in holiday movie musical clips, from the Christmas classics we grew up with to modern day favourites. The Arts Club Theatre Company presents The Gingerbread Men back by popular demand December 5-22 at the Newmont Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre. Think of this as a Christmas cabaret with classic holiday songs performed by a smooth quad of crooners with velvet pipes and gorgeous harmonies.
There is something so gentle, so lovely, and so comforting about the 1982 British animated film, The Snowman. If you’ve never had the pleasure of seeing the film, it is even better hosted and the musical score performed live by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Two matinees take place on December 8th only, and guests are invited to arrive early for family photos in the lobby. Wear your best winter wonderland wardrobe.
“Please sir, could I have some – more?” A classic line from a classic play, Oliver! takes place December 12 through January 4 at Gateway Theatre in Richmond. Follow sweet young orphan Oliver and his gang of heart of gold misfits (and pickpockets) in this classic tale based on Dicken’s Oliver Twist.

This annual holiday tradition gives you all the feels when you gather your family or friends to bask in the talents of classical musicians and socialists performing classic carols live.
