It’s no secret 2024 was all about the stacked ear trend. Celebs have long showed off their ear stacks with fun play on mixed metals and styles. From Kaia Gerber’s snakebites to Miley Cyrus and Cynthia Erivo’s fully stacked lobes, there’s plenty of ways to play it up or down.
I’ve long been fascinated with the stacked ear trend but finally decided to go all out. I got my first flat piercing and a mid-helix one on the same ear, to make a nicely stacked 5-layer maximalist look at Mejuri Piercing Studio. They just opened a new location at Holt Renfrew on Bloor in addition to the Ossington location.
I chose the Diamond Lotus Flat Back Stud and the Diamond Bar Flat Back Stud. I love the look and placement, keeping gold and silver metals with studs and hoops. I also spoke with Justine Lançon, Chief Creative Officer at Mejuri, who shared that they expect this stacking trend to continue into 2025.

What are the most popular piercing trends in 2024 and expected to continue in 2025?
Piercing to create the perfect stack has been trending throughout 2024, and we expect ear stacking to continue its popularity far into 2025! Lobe piercings and upper lobe piercings are the most popular place to start, with the helix taking the next most popular spot for Mejuri customers to experiment with a new look and different types of earring styles. Any advice on how to best stack the ear?
As mentioned, ear stacking is completely up to the individual and how minimal or maximal they want to go with their look. In general, we always recommend a mix of textures, gems, and earring types. What should people know about helix piercings?
The helix is a popular piercing location for individuals looking to expand their ear stack across their ear. The main consideration with the helix as opposed to a traditional lobe piercing is that it takes a little longer to heal. Typically, a helix piercing takes about 6 to 12 months to heal fully. However, the healing time can vary depending on individual factors like aftercare practices, overall health, and lifestyle. If swimming pools, harsh cleaning products, and sleeping on the pierced ear can be avoided, the piercing should heal seamlessly!
