Letters To Santa: What The VITA Team Wants For Christmas

December 13, 2024

Ever wonder what’s on our wish lists, when it comes to holiday gifting and getting? We asked members of the VITA team to submit their Letters to Santa–here’s what contributing writer Jen Pistor wants for Christmas!

Connally Goods Cotton Napkin Set

Linens make such a beautiful gift. These beauties are hand dyed or block printed with indigo and made from 100% organic cotton. If I was gifting them, I’d pair them with some artisan jam or local honey.

Petal & Posy Scrunchies Wristlet Keychain

The perfect solution to never losing your keys or fobs again! These Scrunchie Wristlets are soft and stretchy with gold hardware. They are 100% cotton with elastic and gold plated hardware and made locally in Vancouver. These make such a cute little add on gift or even stocking stuffer.

A bottle of wine from a BC winery

One of the lucky things about living in BC is our amazing selection of local wines. We can support local in so many ways. Wine is one of my favourite gifts to give and to receive. It can be a great way to discover new sips. Some personal fave wineries of mine include Dirty Laundry, Road 13, Blasted Church, and See Ya Later Ranch.

The Sleep Shirt Brushed Cotton Flannel Nightie

We spend a third of our life sleeping, why not sleep in something sustainable and luxe? This is a deep blue cotton flannel. Lightweight and soft, it’s the perfect fabric for winter nights. They are made in Canada out of 100% brushed cotton. A luxe, quality item that can be worn for many many years. They are available in straight sizes and plus sizes.

Cheekbone Beauty Harmony Lipgloss

I am such a fan of this brand and their lip colours especially. I have sadly run out of my Cheekbone lipgloss and would love to replenish my supply. This Canadian, Indigenous, Women owned beauty brand is not one to miss.

Vintage Ceramic Mugs from Elizabeth O. Vintage

Anything vintage will always have my heart. Vintage pottery and ceramics feel so incredibly special and the quality for the price is unmatched. A set of vintage mugs accompanied with some special coffee and or liqueur? Yes please!

Cirque du Soleil Echo tickets

I have never been to Cirque du Soleil and I love the idea of being gifted an experience instead of an item. It’s a perfect sustainable option.Giving the gift of a memory is the best gift of all.

Gift Cards to Local Dining Spots & Breweries

Speaking of experiences, the experience going out to eat is always a crowd pleaser. So is the gift of me not having to cook.  Gift Cards for local, independent spots is a great way to gift all while supporting local. A few of my favourites are Wild Thyme, El Santo, and Steel and Oak.

The Buttercream Clothing Cardi Coat

I actually already own one of these incredibly cozy French Terry bamboo blend cardigans. With a lapel collar and large pockets, you can wear to the office or on the weekends. It’s comfortable and versatile. Buttercream Clothing offers a wide size range (6X-XXS) and makes all their pieces ethically in Canada.

LumberJill Apparel Plaid Mittens

These mittens are made from the scrap fabric of their other products to help reduce their waste. They are made with 100% cotton flannel plaid and 100% recycled polyester fleece. Being a one size item, takes the guess work out of what size to get when gifting.  They are made ethically in Alberta.
