Letters To Santa: What the VITA Team Wants For Christmas

December 13, 2024

Ever wonder what’s on our wish lists when it comes to holiday giving and getting? We asked members of the VITA team to submit their letters to Santa—here’s what contributing writer Alison McGill wants for Christmas.

Blu Boho Emerald Diamond Mood Ring

I am a huge fan of this Canadian jewelry brand and this limited edition Blu Boho emerald mood ring is my current obsession. It’s an iconic piece worn on its own, but also perfect for stacking with a few delicate diamond and gold bands.

Charlotte Tilbury Multi-Miracle Glow

This is one of the first skincare products launched by Charlotte Tilbury over a decade ago; it’s one I can’t live without and expect to see in my stocking every year. Packed with vitamins C, E and A, artic cloudberry, and rosehip oils, you can use it as a cleanser, an overnight mask, or a body balm. It leaves your skin glowing, hydrated and smelling divine.

Polo Ralph Lauren Socks

Not only are these Polo Ralph Lauren socks adorable but they are the perfect length and weight to wear with boots. Polo Bear has been a whole mood for me this season and I have been looking to add a western themed bear ‘fit to my growing lineup of pieces.

Tanya Taylor Sweater

When the temperatures dip, I embrace sweater weather 24/7. There’s just something about fair isle sweaters that gets me: the coziness, the vintage-y patterns, the timelessness of the style. The Duke Sweater by Canadian designer Tanya Taylor is an iconic one I’m dreaming of unboxing on Christmas morning.

Bose QuietComfort Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones

I gifted my husband with these Bose headphones earlier this year. I borrowed them for a recent flight and realized I need my own! They are lightweight, perfectly packable, the sound quality is incredible, and they drown out all the headache-inducing aircraft noise.

Rifle Paper Company Travel Sketchbook Wall Calendar

A friend gifted me this calendar many years ago and since then it’s been a mainstay on my holiday wish list. This Rifle Paper design is often something I gift to travel loving friends too. I love to have a beautiful paper calendar hung on my office wall and this one inspires me about vacation planning.

Herman Miller Sayl Chair

I am reimaging my home office and this architectural chair by Herman Miller is at the top of my list of essentials (in fact, Santa may have already brought it early!). Not only do I love the modern design of this ergonomic chair, but the comfort and back support second to none.

Fable Ramen Bowls

This is my everyday tableware which I love for many reasons: the sleek shapes, durability, and the fact Fable is a Canadian brand. Speckled white is my colourway and these bowls would be a gorgeous new addition to my table (and quickly be in heavy rotation because it’s ramen season!).

Giardini di Toscana Bianco Latte Body Cream

This viral scent is one I’ve been wearing since early spring when I picked it up at Etiket. It is the most delicious ever! An alluring combo of caramel, honey, coumarin, vanilla and white musks make this one a dream. It’s time for a restock but it’s often sold out—I hope Santa pulls through!

Simply Jamie: Fast & Simple Food

I own every Jamie Oliver cookbook and this will be the latest addition to my culinary library. Oliver’s newest is one is poised to be an instant favourite, packed with recipes focused on three things I love: quick, easy, and delicious.

Kara Yoo Earrings

Vancouver-based designer Kara Yoo’s Dancing Stars collection is simply stunning, and I love the organic shape of the stars and the bold impact of the pieces. The Astrid Earrings are detailed with delicate sliver chains and freshwater pearls and look incredible with everything from LBD’s to ruffle collared blouses.
