Ingredients:

For the Monkey Bread:

  • 2 cans (16 oz each) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

For the Cheese Dip:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Monkey Bread Balls:
    • Cut the biscuit dough into 4 equal pieces per biscuit to create small dough squares.
    • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning.
    • Roll each piece of dough into a ball, dip it into the butter mixture, then roll it in Parmesan cheese.
  3. Assemble the Christmas Tree:
    • Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet in a Christmas tree shape, starting with a large base and tapering to a single ball at the top. Leave slight gaps between the dough balls to allow for rising.
    • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Make the Cheese Dip:
    • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and whisk for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
    • Gradually add milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
    • Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and garlic powder until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve the Monkey Bread Christmas Tree:
    • Once baked, transfer the monkey bread tree to a serving platter. Brush with any remaining garlic butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish.
    • Serve warm with the cheese dip in a small bowl at the base of the tree.

This fun and festive appetizer is sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike! Perfect for holiday gatherings and family celebrations. 🎄
