Welcome to The Mom Flow, where I share things that are on my mind in the hopes of helping you connect to your Mom Flow. Thanks for being here! —Erin Sousa
Happy Friday, flow-ers and HAPPY NEW YEAR! We can still say that, right?! Let’s catch up and talk about the new year, what my plans are and look back at some 2024 faves. And can I just say how glad I am you are here? I feel like community is what we need more than ever – places of authenticity and connection are going to be an extreme necessity for 2025.
I’ve been working in my business to start the year because in January, things always slow down with client work, and influencer contracts. It’s meant I’ve created some new templates like reporting and proposals, and it’s given me time to reflect on where I want things to go in 2025 with my business. It’s my 12th year being self employed and running my marketing company – so much has changed in the industry and I’ve pivoted in epic ways. I feel really proud that I’ve been able to support my fam and grow client brands. Challenging, sure, but so fulfilling. The other day I googled myself (calm down, I just needed to get to my website quickly haha), and this came up as one of the search results from a forum that I guess was discussing these topics:
“Watching Erin Sousa buy a home in Vancouver hits a bit hard. She has built a self-taught business on social media marketing and influencing.”
I actually don’t know if this was snark or a kind comment – like is it supposed to mean they were inspired or disgusted? It’s out of context so it’s hard to tell. But yes, yes, I have. Annnnd, I have spots available in my client list and you can’t get to know business Erin, here.
In general, 2025 is in a bit of a state of flux for us right now. We had planned to go to Portugal, and we still do, but it’s tough to book a trip so far in advance with a few personal things are up in the air. But, you kinda have to book it early bc prices can really jump closer to summer when we plan to go.
No I won’t be reading 26 books this year, BUT I will be getting a walking pad. I love this idea so freaking much – I don’t get out walking enough bc of my work, and this will allow me to stroll and scroll (ok ok what, I just made that up, should I trademark it?) and just move more. I’m so sick of feeling like my dismal 5K steps is the best I can do. Can’t wait to get my hands on it, and once I do, will share the one I bought… can’t recommend it yet.
I’m also very excited for Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show, finally working with a financial planner (this meant actually writing a will… eep!), creating a content creator group (IRL chats with peers – something I’ve been meaning to create forever and our first one is in January), Lola getting baptized and getting ready for Lola to start kindergarten this year (yup, I’m already counting down!)
But, let’s take a look back to 2024, shall we?
Fave Things of 2024
- Beast Blender: I reach for this again and again – it’s small, cute and powerful. Basically goals for us all.
- Superbelly: This makes me feel so darn good – it gives me a really nice boost of hydration (code ERIN gives you $$ off) If you came to my Mom Flow event, this was in the gift bag.
- Wilet linen sheets: these are magical and actually have upgraded our sleep. They are cooling, thick and soft, and I adore how they look (code ERIN10 saves you $$)
- Grocery pick up and Costco delivery: the way this saves so much time and energy
- UGG Tasman: these always are my ride or die and I wear them around our house (like the yard/garage) and out and about
- Touchland hand sanitizer: the best, and finally in Canada
- These shorts: they are back in stock and got me through the summer when bumming around home or the yard (especially in Portugal!) pssst: just bought this cute sweater for vday vibes
- Apple Watch band: I even got one for Roberto for Christmas and he loves it
- Nobody Wants This: my pick for one of the best shows of 2024 and you need to watch it
And am I going to share my INS and OUTS for 2025? Heck yes. I actually love reading them, so here are mine, with little to no explanation.
