Why Delta Hotels Riviera Nayarit Isn’t Your Typical Mexican All-Inclusive

January 24, 2025

Arriving at the Delta Hotels Riviera Nayarit, the unexpected topography takes center stage. Nestled less than 40 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport and just 20 minutes from Ashwagandha Eco Village, this all-inclusive resort blends accessibility with the seclusion of the surrounding tropical jungle. The property climbs up the mountainside with switchback paths weaving from the lobby to the upper accommodations, punctuated by plenty of amenities along the way. Guests can opt for a breezy golf cart ride between pools and restaurants or hike the steep paths for a margarita-worthy workout, waving at yoga enthusiasts on the greenbelt as they pass.

Despite its 212 rooms and expansive 320,000 sqft footprint, the resort exudes a boutique charm that feels intimate—far from the bustling, theme park-like vibe of larger beachside all-inclusives. Perched on elevated terrain, the resort offers sweeping views of lush greenery and dramatic mountainous landscapes, creating a serene escape from daily life.

The Tzicuri Spa adds to the wellness-forward atmosphere with 10 private cabanas offering nature-inspired treatments like facials, couples’ massages, and body scrubs. Guests can unwind further at a secluded pool, perfect for post-treatment relaxation.

The standout feature is the property’s curated approach to amenities. Alongside a buffet and teppanyaki grill, there are unique touches that set it apart: four distinct pools—including a lazy river, a natural rock pool, and a half-moon infinity pool with a snack bar—plus adults-only hot pools tucked into the upper sections of the resort. Midnight cravings are solved with a 24-hour “pantry,” while taco stands and bar carts are scattered throughout the property.

While nightlife here is understated—a sports bar with karaoke fills the evenings—nearby towns like La Cruz de Huanacaxtle (just 8 minutes away) and Sayulita (30 minutes away) offer vibrant local experiences. The Sunday market at La Cruz’s modern marina is a must-visit, while the resort’s private Tonati Beach Club, a short shuttle ride away, provides a quintessential beach day. With soft sands, Pacific waves, and standout cocktails, the beach club’s seafood-forward menu, including prawn ceviche and fresh tacos, is a culinary highlight.

Delta Hotels Riviera Nayarit distinguishes itself with authenticity. Unlike many all-inclusives, where English dominates, this resort offers an immersive experience surrounded by locals and Spanish-speaking guests. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and cultural connection—an all-inclusive with a soul. —Allie Turner
