Etiquette for the Wedding Season

January 16, 2015

rsvpYou’re invited to an engagement party, shower and wedding … what to give?

Today’s bride and groom probably aren’t setting out on their own for the first time and all these gifts can get expensive. Our advice: decide how much you want to spent and divide that money up among the various occasions. If the couple has registered, give them what they want. The gift isn’t for you, so you don’t have to like it (only they do). Pooling money with other guests is also a great way to buy the love birds something really great. Finally, when invited to an occasion around a wedding, or any event for that matter, RSVP prior to the deadline. There’s nothing worse than having to followup with delinquent guests to find out if they are planning on attending.

Follow these simple rules and wedding season will be a joy! —Randall MacDonald
