These days, $50 doesn’t go very far—but on April 24, it could score you an original piece of art. Yes, really.
After a sold-out debut, Mount Pleasant’s beloved Beaumont Studios is bringing back Art Incognito—a one-night-only anonymous art sale meets full-blown party, where over 360 original 8” x 8” artworks are up for grabs, each priced at just $50. The twist? You won’t know who created your piece until after you’ve claimed it. You could walk away with a work by an established BC artist, a rising star—or someone you pass every day grabbing coffee.
But don’t mistake this for a quiet gallery night. Art Incognito is part art show, part choose-your-own-adventure. Expect 40+ open artist studios to explore, plus food trucks, cocktails, live performances, DJs, tarot readings, games, a 50/50 draw—and yes, even a human slot machine. It’s chaotic in the best way, and entirely on-brand for the Beaumont’s creative, anything-goes energy.

The event also carries real purpose. As Vancouver continues to grapple with shrinking creative spaces, the Beaumont Studios has been fighting to remain a home for artists and a hub for the community. Now a registered charity, this fundraiser helps support its next chapter—meaning your night out doubles as a meaningful contribution to the local arts scene.
Whether you’re in it for the art, the party, or the thrill of not knowing what you’ll take home, one thing’s certain: this is not your average Friday night. —Noa Nichol
