We Tried It: The Robot Vacuum That Basically Thinks For You

We’ve tested our fair share of robot vacuums—but this one? It’s on another level. The new DJI ROMO isn’t just a cleaner, it’s a full-on smart home flex—and after putting it to work, we’re officially impressed.

First things first: navigation. This thing sees everything. Thanks to millimeter-level obstacle sensing (borrowed from DJI’s drone tech), it glides around cables, furniture, and even tiny objects without getting stuck. No more rescuing your vacuum mid-clean.

Then there’s the cleaning power. With seriously strong suction (up to 25,000 Pa), it handled everything from fine dust to crumbs to pet hair without missing a beat. Bonus: it actually adjusts itself depending on what it’s cleaning—slowing down for things like litter so it doesn’t scatter debris everywhere.

What really sold us? The details. Extendable arms reach into corners and along edges (yes, finally), and it sweeps before it mops so you’re not just pushing dirt around. It even carries its own water tank and adjusts moisture levels to tackle tougher messes.

And the best part: it basically takes care of itself. The self-cleaning base station washes the mop pads, clears debris, and can run for months with minimal maintenance. Translation: less work for you, more clean floors all the time.

There’s even a surprisingly fun element—you can check in on your home, talk through it, or peek at your pets while you’re out (privacy controls included, don’t worry).

Final verdict? If you’re ready to upgrade your cleaning routine from “I should vacuum” to “it’s already done,” this is the smartest way to do it.
