When timeless design meets meaningful impact, it’s more than just a beautiful accessory—it’s a statement. Patricia Nash’s latest limited-edition collection, created in partnership with Susan G. Komen, blends vintage-inspired craftsmanship with a heartfelt mission to support breast cancer research and care. We caught up with Patricia to talk design, storytelling, and why this collection is especially close to her heart. —Noa Nichol
This collaboration blends design with purpose—what inspired you to partner with Susan G. Komen, and why was this cause important for you and your brand?
Over the years, we’ve participated in different events supporting breast cancer awareness. My grandmother had breast cancer when I was young, and in the 1960s she didn’t have access to reconstructive surgery or even proper undergarments – she would literally stuff tissues into her bra. I remember being so shocked by her appearance, but also in awe of her bravery, pride, and strength.
The Petal Pink collection feels both beautiful and meaningful—how did you approach designing pieces that carry emotional significance while still feeling timeless and wearable?
The Petal Pink just felt like the perfect shade of pink – not too “Barbie-like” or too bright, but soft and warm. I wanted to pair it with a supple, grainy leather that feels natural and effortless to carry.
Your signature frame bags are known for their vintage structure—what makes the Sofia and Serafina styles the perfect canvas for this special release?
Many of us remember our mothers and grandmothers carrying frame bags. They always looked so glamorous and ladylike – it was, and still is, a major fashion moment for me. I also love seeing younger generations embrace them now as vintage, boho, and high fashion. Classic styles always seem to come back even stronger each time.
Beyond the donation, what do you hope customers feel or take away when they carry one of these bags and connect with the story behind them?
I hope women are always kind to one another. You never really know what someone may be going through – someone who seems angry, sad, or rude could be quietly struggling, possibly even with breast cancer.
