KitchenAid’s First Major Appliance Redesign In A Decade Is Turning The Kitchen Into A Personal Style Statement

For years, kitchens have largely followed the same formula: neutral finishes, predictable hardware, and a one-size-fits-all approach to design.

KitchenAid is ready to change that.

With its first major appliance redesign in more than a decade, the iconic brand is embracing a growing shift in home design—one that treats the kitchen not simply as a place to cook, but as an extension of personal style.

At the centre of the new collection is customization. Rather than blending into the background, the appliances are designed to help homeowners create spaces that feel distinctly their own.

Two striking new colourways lead the launch. Juniper, a sophisticated green-blue inspired by nature, brings a sense of calm and depth to the kitchen, while Black Ore offers a softer, warmer interpretation of matte black that pairs beautifully with natural stone, wood, and contemporary interiors.

Perhaps the most exciting detail, however, is the introduction of interchangeable hardware. Available in Brass, Bronze, Black Ore, and Stainless Steel finishes, the customizable accents allow homeowners to personalize their appliances much like they would jewelry or accessories—adding an extra layer of individuality to one of the most-used rooms in the house.

The launch arrives at a moment when kitchens are increasingly becoming the heart of entertaining, gathering, and everyday connection. To celebrate the collection, KitchenAid partnered with host and content creator Isabelle Heikens, whose monthly themed dinner parties have earned a devoted following online.

After hosting themed gatherings every month for the past two years, Heikens has developed a few non-negotiable rules for stress-free entertaining.

The first? Always have a theme.

Whether it’s a Hamptons-inspired dinner party or a coastal summer gathering, a theme instantly transforms a simple meal into an experience. “We’re doing so much more than making a meal,” says Heikens. “We’re making memories.”

Her second rule is equally practical: do all the prep before guests arrive. No chopping boards. No last-minute cooking. No frantic searches for ingredients while friends are already pouring drinks.

Instead, she relies on thoughtful organization and strategic preparation, keeping everything fresh, accessible, and ready to assemble once guests walk through the door.

And finally, perhaps the most important hosting tip of all: tackle the dishes before bed.

Because no matter how beautiful the evening, nobody wants to wake up to a mountain of dirty plates the next morning.

Together, the new collection and Heikens’ approach reflect a broader movement happening inside the home right now—one where functionality and self-expression are no longer mutually exclusive.

After all, the best kitchens aren’t just where meals are made. They’re where stories are shared, celebrations unfold, and memories are created.

And now, they can look a little more like you, too. —Noa Nichol

I love that KitchenAid is finally making appliances that let you show off your style. The idea of turning the kitchen into a personal statement is really cool, and it’s about time brands moved away from boring neutral designs.
