If your ideal summer evening involves a sunny patio, a chilled Aperol Spritz and a table overflowing with handmade pasta and wood-fired pizza, you’ll want to make a reservation at Sopra Sotto.

The beloved Little Italy favourite has unveiled a fresh seasonal menu celebrating the best of Mediterranean-inspired cooking, with Head Chef Agnello Lafeta Alvarenga spotlighting peak-season ingredients and the Italian Slow Food philosophy.

The new lineup is packed with crave-worthy dishes, from Tuna Crudo with pistachio and fennel vinaigrette and creamy Burrata topped with figs and prosciutto, to comforting bowls of Spaghetti alle Vongole, rich Gnocchi al Sunday Sugo, and decadent Casarecce e Tartufo tossed in a creamy truffle sauce.

Pizza lovers have plenty to celebrate too. New wood-fired creations include the Mortadella with pistachio and stracciatella, the seafood-forward Gamberi, and the flavour-packed Amalfi, topped with anchovies, capers, olives and Sicilian oregano.

To sip? A lineup of new signature cocktails joins Italian classics like the Aperol Spritz and Negroni, while Happy Hour (daily from 4 to 5 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. to close) offers some of the city’s best deals on pizza, pasta and cocktails.

And whatever you do, save room for dessert. The Olive Oil Lemon Cake, classic Tiramisu, rich Tortino di Cioccolato and espresso-spiked Affogato provide the perfect sweet ending to a leisurely Italian feast.

In other words: summer on Commercial Drive has never tasted better. —Noa Nichol
