if you want to delve into a frightening film: The Stanley Kubrick: A Cinematic Odyssey exhibit opens October 31st at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Look at the director’s career through archives of letters, photos, costumes and more, including the dresses of those spooky sisters from The Shining. $12.50

pumpkin paradeif you want to howl with laughter: Dress up and trek to the Comedy Bar to get your giggle on as you enjoy 12 improv experts get spooky funny on stage at BooProv (all in an effort to walk away with the coveted BooProv Pumpkin of Champions). $20.

if you want to bring the kiddies: Tote your own carved pumpkin over to Sorauren Park (or just drop in to take in the carving prowess of others) November 1st for the Sorauren Park Pumpkin Parade—an event that sees a couple thousand pimped-out pumpkins done up to the nines.
