Ski Adventure in Beaver Creek

February 27, 2013

After spending a couple days in the incredible village of Vail, Colorado
you’ll need to decompress in the beautiful and close-by village of
Beaver Creek. Less than an hour away, Beaver Creek is a great spot to
get in some more excellent skiing, much needed spa time and an
opportunity to eat at one of the most unique dining spots ever.

The Pines Lodge in
Beaver Creek is a gorgeous spot nestled on the hill with a perfect
rustic vibe to get you in the mountain mood. They have an excellent pro
shop right in the hotel which is super helpful when you need last-minute
mittens or a change in ski boots. The best thing about Pines Lodge? They
always have freshly baked cookies waiting for you in the lobby by their
big fireplace. Chocolate chips, here we come!

One of the most memorable meals I have ever experienced was during my
time in Beaver Creek. Beano’s
Cabin
was the place and the way we arrived in style was even more
interesting. We were pulled up the mountain in an open air sled pulled
by a snowcat. We were serenaded with a harmonica by the tour guide, Jeb
which was most entertaining. You’ll want to bundle up for the ride up
and most importantly for the ride back down after your exquisite meal.
The food at Beano’s is absoutely amazing. The great thing about their
menu’s is that you have so many delicious choices for each course.
Things are always changing on the menu as the chef is very committed to
keeping the fare local and sustainable.

After a hard day on the hill, you’ll want to spend the afternoon
primping and preening at the Allegria
Spa
located at the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek. Spoil yourself with a
hot oil scalp and foot treatment to relieve tensions and swollen feet.
Finish off the experience with a sparkly pedicure and you’ll be feeling
refreshed and rejuvenated in no time.

To finish off your Beaver Creek experience, you have got to visit the Vilar
Performing Arts
Centre for a show. From amazing tribute acts to
Broadway shows, the VilarPAC always has something exciting to check out
while you are in town.

You’ll want to keep coming back to this picturesque ski village – it
just feels like home.
