New Nosh: Banh Mi Banh Yui

Months ago signage went up announcing the upcoming opening of a banh mi counter on St-Viateur.

After what seems like an eternal wait, Banh Mi Banh Yui is up and running in the heart of Mile End, and we’re happy to report that despite its eye-roll-inducing name, it was worth the wait. The ultra-concise menu (sandwich, soup or salad—c’est tout!) means you can’t go wrong, and the flavours are on point: savoury fillings packed into a crisp baguette topped with tangy sauce, herbs and veggies. Bonus points for the two vegetarian options (avocado and tofu) and $6 price point.
