Tea for Two

May 4, 2009

High tea is an 18th century custom started by the Duchess of Bedford who
got peckish in the late afternoon.

Create your own royal spread with a High
Tea Workshop
on the Main. Tomorrow chef Denise Cornellier will
demonstrate how to make traditional scones, sweet macaroons and salmon
mousse sandwiches (sans crusts, of course). After pouring and tasting a
selection of fine
Kusmi brews
, learn how to set a proper high tea table lavished with
silver trays, fine linens and the very best bone china.

After three and a half hours, youll be as sated and savvy as a duchess.

High Tea Workshop ($150 per person, $250/two people), May 5, 6 p.m.,
Cornellier Traiteur, 5354 St-Laurent Blvd, 2nd floor, Montreal,
514-272-8428, www.cornelliertraiteur.com
