Ever stepped into a place and been instantly reminded of good times in warmer climes?
That’s exactly what we experienced stepping into Huma Mexican Comfort, a new southside joint that pays homage to south-south-of-the-border kitsch and home-cooked meals. Check out the piano in one corner, the luchadores shrine in another and, on the walls, Pancho Villa photos in black and white. Among various menu offerings: chilaquiles, drenched in a mild tomato sauce, sprinkled with queso and onions and finished with a drizzle of crema, and a "negotiable" taco plate (choose two types of tacos for your dish of four). Either pairs perfectly with a glass of horchata: sweet, spiced rice milk.
