We don’t mess around when it comes to dumplings.
In fact, the little bundle-nuggets are our favourite foodstuffs, perfect in every way, save shelf-life (sorry frozen T&T har-gow, you tried, we tried, but no). Indeed, the disparity between a good dumpling and the absolutely best dumpling is notable, and important! So, with the Golden Dumpling Cook Off & Derby coming to Vancouver in August, we felt it’d be appropriate to get a head start by following the team from Bao Bei (their trufled pork dumplings are on our list of Vancouver’s best, obvi) as they search the city for their favourite xiao long bao (saucy little soup-filled babies you, using variant techniques of broth-suction, ultimately destroy with your face in large quantities). Can you get enough dumplings? The answer is ‘NO!’
