The ocean is a mysterious place, filled with strange and amazing creatures.
All that subaquatic strangeness makes for an especially awesome visit to the Vancouver Aquarium’s newest exhibition, Sea Monsters Revealed. Thanks to a super-cool preservation technique known as plastination, you’ll be able to see the insides and outsides of some of the oceans most mysterious creatures, including a mako shark and a metre-long ocean sunfish, the heaviest bony fish in the world. If you’re into the deep ‘n’ dark segments of Planet Earth, and have a little one who likes yelling things like, "Whoa that’s awesome!" when confronted with seemingly fantastical sea life, you’ve got to check it out.
Who knows what lingers in the deep? Well, the aquarium. —Adrienne Matei
