Polynesian Princess

December 4, 2009

We might not be crossing the Pacific Ocean for food anytime soon, but we
can cross la fleuve.

The owners of Bice and Cavalli have opened Kabana,
a swish new supper club at Brossards Quartier Dix30. e love the wild
Polynesian-style décor with hints of Canadiana: giant totem poles,
antler-chandeliers and open gas fireplaces.

Start your luau with the signature Mango Daiquiri, a tasty Tiki-era
cocktail made from pineapple, Pango Rhum and Haitian spices ($10). Next
up, try the pan-fried salmon with maple syrup sauce and baked apples
flavoured in caramelized Jack Daniels ($19). For dessert we dove into
mini deep-fried donuts ($6) and balls of home-made sorbet ($6) that had
us hula-dancing home.
