We All Scream for Sunscreen

Every skin-care launch we attend (a lot) includes, despite the varying products being hocked, a common message: you simply can’t expect to save your skin, from signs of aging or worse, without applying a daily SPF. With summer practically here (in Vancouver, it’s in full swing—sorry, other parts of Canada) we’ve rounded up some of our favourite sunscreen products for every type of (sun) seeker. —Johnnie Smart

face it. This ultra-light clear formula with aloe and vitamin E from Sun Bum ($22 at Shoppers Drug Mart) is perfect for delicate skin and blends easily under makeup.

cover up. This lightweight anti-aging body cream by Darphin Paris ($49) is water-resistant and non-greasy, making it ideal for enjoying the sun fuss-free. Plus, it smells amaze!

mane event. The newest shampoo/conditioner collection by OGX Beauty ($10 at London Drugs) is exactly what our hair needs as the weather warms, with UVA/UVB filters that protect locks from harmful rays while nourishing and maintaining its luster.

lip service. Our fave EOS lip balm now comes with broad-spectrum SPF ($4), keeping our lips soft, hydrated and protected. We love the refreshing grapefruit flavour!

kiss and make up. Finally, UV protection plus flawless coverage doesn’t mean compromising, thanks to this oil-controlling multi-tasking BB Cream by Smashbox ($50 at Sephora).

fountain of youth. One of the top wrinkle-fighting brands on the market also fights against harmful UV rays and keeps skin looking brighter and more hydrated. No wonder L’Oreal Revitalift ($24 at London Drugs) is our go-to product.

don’t sweat it. Whether you’re a competitive swimmer or would prefer just to lounge on a pool float, this Coola Sport Unscented Moisturizer ($43), ultra water-resistant and hypoallergenic, is perfect for all outdoor activities.

mother nature. For an all-around lotion that’s chemical free, water resistant and lightweight, our top pick is NYDG Active Defense ($133) for face and body.
