Pure Chrissy Teigen (Read Our Exclusive Q&A!)

June 5, 2018

With Chrissy Teigen recently giving birth to her second child (and sharing her stretch-mark sorrows on social media), it’s the perfect time to announce the Canadian debut of the celeb mom’s collaboration with Pampers, as creative consultant for its new Pure collection, crafted with premium cotton, plant-based and other thoughtfully selected materials, containing no chlorine bleacing, fragrances, parabens or latex and boasting the cutest designs (llamas, corgis and sloths!). We chatted with Chrissy by phone to find out all about her vision and mission in partnering with Pampers Pure. —Noa Nichol

Hi Chrissy! This is a really exciting launch from Pampers. Why were you eager to collaborate with the company on its new Pure collection?

I’ve actually been putting my daughter, Luna, in Pampers since Day 1, and baby Miles will be in them, too! Not only is it great to finally have a line of naturally-inspired diapers and wipes to choose from, the final designs are simply adorable! I got to observe the little things that Luna loves and put them on these diapers, and that was so much fun!

Why do you think this launch is so timely and important?

Every parent, myself included, wants the very best for their baby—in fact, we want things to be even better for our kids than, perhaps, they were for us when we were growing up. The fact that Pampers Pure diapers and wipes are made without chlorine bleaching, fragrance, lotion, parabens, natural rubber latex and many allergens, and are dermatologically tested and clinically proven hypoallergenic without sacrificing any of the leakage and dryness protection the brand is known for is definitely an improvement! It’s empowering, as a mom, to be able to pick the very best things for your baby and to be able to have that choice.

What will your role as a creative consultant entail? What vision do you plan to bring to the Pure collection?

Well, I was able to pick the cutest little animals, like llamas, corgis and sloths, for this collection—just my opinion, but I think they’re much more "chic" than the usual crazy colours and cartoons you see on diapers, and they definitely blend in better with my decor! But, really, of course I want my kids and all other toddlers and babies to love them—and I think they do!

What has your experience been, as a mom, using the brand?

Actually, my very first moment and memory as a mom is of Luna, when she was first born. She was so tiny, and she needed to be hooked up to an IV. They used a teeny Pampers diaper like a boxing glove to wrap up her little hand and wrist, to protect them. That was hard, seeing my brand-new baby that way, but I was so grateful Pampers was there to provide that small bit of comfort to us both.

Miles may be too young to have an opinion on this just yet, but what does Luna think of the new Pampers Pure collection—is she proud of her mom?!

We actually got the chance to do some photo shoots together for the launch, and that was really special—there’s not a lot of jobs we can do together and Luna had such a good time on set! She’s currently in a crazy cleaning stage where she’s obsessed with cleaning everything, so she was using the wipes to clean everything on set—and trust me, she was really working it!
