September 13th, 2018, saw VITA editor-in-chief Noa Nichol co-host a sparkling night of fashionable launches, delicious nibbles, excellent company and, of course, shopping at the Coach Fall 2018 Ready-to-Wear Capsule Collection event in Vancouver. "Thank you, everyone, for coming tonight. Public speaking is, in fact, my greatest fear, so please bear with me while the nerves work themselves out!
"I am so honoured to be here this evening, partnering with Coach to celebrate the arrival of its Fall 2018 Ready-to-Wear Capsule Collection. This actually feels like a full-circle moment for me—my childhood friend Sabina, who is here tonight, gifted me my very first Coach wristlet 25 years or so ago, and I haven’t been without the brand in my hand or over my shoulder since.
"Now, I am proud as ever to be wearing Coach on my person, and thank executive creative director Stuart Vevers for creating this gorgeous, woodsy, gothic-feeling collection that suits the season perfectly. From dresses flaunting pretty ruffled hemlines to leather jackets detailed with tassels, braiding and silver charms, there’s a lot to love within this range. I’d also like to point to the latest pieces from Coach’s ongoing collaboration with Selena Gomez, which you can read more about in the current issue of VITA, as well as the brand-new Dreamer bags, featuring tattoo-like designs—roses, moths and floral skulls—by artist Chelsea Champlain. Word has it, Vevers discovered Champlain on Instagram, which is good news for all of us working to make a name for ourselves on social media these days!
"Finally, much thanks, love and gratitude to Coach’s own Rebecca Marsh and Katrina Fong Ying for making this event happen, to the lovely manager of this gorgeous store, Kathine Leung, for dressing me, and to the gorgeous ladies at Jane Gill PR for keeping me in the loop on all things Coach. And, of course, a huge thank you to all of you for your presence and support—I hope you enjoy yourself tonight … and, maybe, just maybe, treat yourself to a gorgeous Coach something to take home!"
