The Best Nightlife in Vancouver

October 1, 2018

There’s no denying just how diverse nightlife in Vancouver can be. From its hard-partying clubs to its sophisticated cocktails bars, absolutely no-one is left out here. Most of the bars and nightlife are located into one of five districts, each with their own appeal and unique vibe, including Yaletown, Gastown, and Granville Street.

club hopping and hard partying in the granville entertainment district. Granville Street in Downtown Vancouver is your first port of call for hard partying. Roughly stretching between Robson Street and Nelson Street, this section of Granville Street is full of nightclubs and bars, making it easy to hop from one club to the next. A number of the more famous nightclubs in the area can be found here, such as Cellar Nightclub and The Roxy, attracting 20-and-nearly-30-somethings looking to drink, dance, mingle, and show off their nighttime outfits. Weekends are the busiest on Granville Street so prepare yourself for some lengthy entrance lines at the most popular clubs.

celeb-spotting and high style in yaletown. Celebrities (bear in mind that Vancouver is Hollywood North), pretty young people, and high-tech types are found at the list stylish of all Vancouver nightlife districts: Yaletown on Mainland Street and Hamilton Street. The nightlife is super-trendy, particularly the celebrity hotspot that is the OPUS bar, the hockey player-haven Glowbal, and the always-full Bar None. If you enjoy dressing up, sipping on overpriced cocktails, and just love to be seen, this is the nightlife district you’re looking for.

live music and hipster nightlife on soma. Main Street has long been regarded as Vancouver’s hipster-central and the Main and SoMa (South Main) nightlife certainly features a hipster appeal. It’s relaxed and casual, with an emphasis on atmosphere and music, as opposed to decor and style. Of course, some of the elements of nightlife, such as music and casino games, have been made more accessible online so not everyone goes out quite as much. Thanks to the Internet, there’s an endless amount of music on the likes of Spotify and Pandora. There are also casinos galore, with big jackpot games like Mega Moolah, many of which are reviewed on such portals as RealMoney.ca with its reviews of the best casinos. That’s on the odd night that you don’t feel like going out and sampling the Vancouver nightlife, of course.

dancing, chic cocktails, and local pubs in historic gastown. If you enjoy diversity in your nightlife, the forever-evolving Gastown has it all. Vancouver’s historic center features local, casual pubs such as the Irish Heather, as well as urban-chic and sophisticated cocktails bars like The Diamond and L’Abattoir. The crowds are also diverse. Pubs and cocktails bars attract peoples of all ages, although such dance clubs as The Blarney Stone and The Lamplighter skew towards a younger crowd. When the evening is just beginning and you’re in the mood for some action, you can’t go wrong in one of these five districts. You’ll find Vancouverites ready for fun in any one them, whether sipping on a cocktail, being entertained by a live band, or dancing the night away.
