l’occitane solidarity balm. We wrote about the 2017 edition here, and this year L’Occitane has done it again, releasing an limited-edition apricot version of its lip-and-body balm (available until March 201th) to celebrate and benefit the women of Burkina Faso, Africa, who provide all of its shea butter.
zorah mascara. This amazing brand was born out of a meeting between a young woman, Melissa Harvey, and a co-operative of Berber women in North Africa who were growing, harvesting and exporting argan oil. Touched and impressed by their courage, their generosity and knowledge, Harvey has been working with and supporting them ever since, and her richly nourishing range of argan oil-infused mascaras have been a hit all over the world (also, they smell like strawberries!).
elizabeth arden x reese witherspoon. In 1912, as women in N.Y.C. marched for the right to vote, entrepreneur Elizabeth Arden helped boost morale by giving red lipstick to suffragettes. Today, the brand is continuing that legacy with its new March On Campaign: all proceeds from EA’s limited-edition lipstick shade, created by actor/activist Reese Witherspoon, will go to UN Women, a global champion for women and girls, gender equality and empowerment.
