wedding-hairstyle dos. Do a trial run ahead of time (at least two or three days in advance) before the big day so there is no surprises. Bring a friend on your trial day for another eye, and for honest, constructive criticism. Time how long it takes to do the entire hairstyle from start to finish to account for prep time during the big day. It’s all about organization (i.e., no stress). Bring at least three inspirational photos of the hairstyle you want and a picture of your wedding dress to your consultation and, if there’s a hair accessory or veil you wish to include, bring it to the trial day so you can discuss where to place it. Finally, wash your hair the night before so it’s easier to style on the big day and have an emergency kit stocked with bobby pins, hairspray and anything else you’ll need for your hair—just in case you need it!

wedding-hairstyle don’ts. Don’t get a haircut or colour the week before your wedding. Do this at least one month in advance (a trim or colour) to make it look healthy and shiny. Avoid fresh flowers for your hair because they can wilt fast—or choose the most heat-resistant flowers possible. Finally, if you loved your hair at the consultation, don’t try to change it the day of. It’s all about commitment, baby!
