Call me old-fashioned, but my all-time favourite scent is classic rose. I would bathe in rose petals daily if I could (and if someone would draw me a bath, sprinkle the flowers and entertain my three-year-old while I soak—pending that, here are my top rose-themed products to stem up your beauty routine (and mine, cause a daily tub is not in the cards for me at the moment). —Noa Nichol
from fresh. This beauty brand does rose beautifully, in several iterations. Two products I’ve recently started using are the Rose Deep Hydration Face Serum ($59) and Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask ($60)—both work to (you guessed it) hydrate, smooth and support the skin’s natural moisture barrier. And the scent, courtesy of Damask rose extract? Divine.
courtesy of korres. Take time to stop and smell the roses and promote a naturally glowy complexion with this 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum ($99). Its unique formula features two phases that, when mixed together, create a skin-care miracle concoction. The top layer is wild rose oil with vitamin C to help promote brighter skin, while the bottom layer helps minimize the appearance of skin discolouration.
by bastide. This brand makes some of my favourite floral-scented products, and its Rose Olivier body wash (from $15) is no exception. Nearly 100 per cent natural, it includes Provence olive oil and coconut oil to create a silky, gentle formula that glides and cleanses, leaving skin soft and supple. Artisanally made in small batches (soap cauldrons), the rosey fragrance literally blooms in the shower, petally and fresh with notes of pink peony, olive leaf, and cashmere woods.
definitely dior. Dior’s new range of scents (26 in total) includes one called Rose Gipsy (from $294) that I have fallen for. In the words of its creator, François Demachy, "This was inspired by a memory of the May Rose fields at dawn, when the flowers covered with fresh dew-drops await the pickers. It contains the vivacious green of the stems, snapped with a confident twist and the sharp, peppery spice that lingers on the fingers after the harvest." Indeed!
megababe must. Recently received from a friend, this Rosy Pits daily deodorant ($24) is made with a blend of natural ingredients, including sage and green tea, and helps prevent odour-causing bacteria from forming on the skin. It’s invisible, alcohol-free and paraben-free and boasts a bona fide fresh, rosy scent will have you sniffing your pits all day long!
pantene provides. Pantene’s sorta-new Pro-V Blends Rose Water collection consists of a Sulfate Free Moisture Wash shampoo and a Moisture Milk conditioner ($7 each), both suited for dry and colour-treated hair thanks, in part, to the inclusion of rose water from the petals and buds of the rosa gallica plant.
direct from dr hauschka. If you know me, you know I love this brand’s Rose Deodorant and now there’s even more rosiness from Dr Hauschka to love! The Rose Day Cream (also in Light; $52 each) includes 35 roses per tube and are really good for soothing skin with a tendency toward redness.
chloe classic. Such a beautiful scent, I wore it on my wedding day! Roses de Chloé (from $100) smells like thousands of petals from a bouquet of fresh-cut blooms—in one wonderful spritz.
