A Touch of Spain in Vancouver

September 18, 2019

It’s one of the world’s hottest cultural destinations and, this Saturday, September 21st, we plan to experience the art, music and food of Spain without leaving Vancouver!

Happening at Oakridge Centre, the day’s Spanish-influenced programming, open to the public from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., includes a Meet the Masters “Picasso to Pop Art” art exhibition in the West Galleria, featuring Salvador Dali’s "Dalinian Dancer, 69" bronze sculpture, a Dali photo booth (be sure to tage #oakridgegram), Spanish guitarist Ruel Morales under the archway (where else?!) and, in the Canada Line Plaza, live performances by the Karen Flamenco Dance and a "Live the Paella" culinary experience led by The Paella Guys chefs Javier Blanc and Shay Kelly.

Other not-necessarily-Latin-but-still-fun activities happening that day, until 6 p.m., include a LEGO competition, Goh Ballet performances, live music, fashion shows and more. Also, in honour of the sales launch of the residential Clemande Tower, Westbank and Oakridge will, beginning at 11 a.m., offer the first 20 people to purchase a condo that day an official Oakridge Welcome Bag filled with goodies valued at $1,500! With 2,000 guests expected to come through, be sure to get there "muy temprano" (that’s very early, in Spanish)! —Vita Daily
