Uncomfortable symptoms aside, pregnancy is a pretty miraculous time. We get to watch our bellies bloom, feel those cute little kicks and, of course, prepare our homes for baby. Whether a first or subsequent child, it’s a primal need to nest and make everything perfect for our little one’s impending arrival—but, although it’s tonnes of fun planning things out, it can also be a tad overwhelming.
From big-ticket items like cribs and strollers to diapers and décor, the options are endless. Luckily, friends and family love to help out and if you’re planning a shower, a registry is a must! For us, buybuy BABY is the obvious choice. Relatively new to Canada, the retailer is a sister company to Bed Bath & Beyond and carries everything you could ever dream of from fave baby brands like UPPAbaby, Skip Hop, Aden + Anais, Ergobaby and The Honest Company (to name just a few).
While you can conveniently choose your items online, heading to any Bed Bath & Beyond location or one of buybuy BABY’s seven (and counting!) dedicated stores across the country allows access to its expertly trained staff. On a recent trip to the Langley, B.C., location, we were treated to our own personal guide who, after a quick sign-up sesh, spent an hour touring us around the store to find what suited our unique needs. Living in a small downtown Vancouver apartment, space is a huge concern and that means choosing wisely. Our amazing guide made sure we were hitting the more practical areas (like sleep, nursing, safety and travel) over the superfluous (toys and fancy gadgets) while still allowing time for impossibly adorable baby clothes (obv!).
Done and dusted, we made our way home confidently knowing we’re on our way to having everything our bundle (due any day now) needs when they make their way earth side. Thanks buybuy BABY! —Rachel Johnston
