lotte davis, ceo and founder, one girl can. Growing up in South Africa during apartheid shaped the deep feelings Lotte has about racial discrimination and basic human rights. Lotte founded One Girl Can in to help held poverty gender inequality through education. One Girl Can empowers young girls in the poorest regions of Africa by building schools, providing scholarships and mentoring the brightest girls in the area. miriam alden, owner, brunette the label. Starting as a sales rep, Miriam learned the ins and outs of wholesale and made strong connections with retailers. After moving on from her sales rep role, Alden drove around Vancouver selling pashminas out of the back of her car before establishing the Brunette the Label showroom. Now Miriam has created a brand that is meant for everyone, regardless of age, size or gender—making everyone feel comfortable and confident.

leah alexandra, owner, leah alexandra jewelry. Leah Alexandra Jewelry was born from a lifelong obsession with gemstones. Having been trained in design and metalsmithing, Leah wielded her artistry and craftsmanship talents to found her own jewelry company in 2005. Upon trading in her savings for supplies, what began from the kitchen table of her Vancouver apartment soon blossomed into a brand with a following across the globe.
