Hi Sadé! How do you use your platform/voice/life to impact those who follow you?

Music is definitely my voice; I express my thoughts and emotions through it. I try to be vulnerable and authentic with my lyrics and sound, and I’ve been told people connect with me through my music, which I am grateful for. On my platforms I try to be as genuine as possible; I talk about my faith, passions, insecurities, goals, funny stories, behind the scenes and so on, while treating others with love and respect.

What has been your top insight, thought, feeling or takeaway from the recent critical focus on the Black Lives Matter movement?

Change comes when we unite, and we can only unite when we put aside our differences and see each other as one people, as human beings, as brothers and sisters. Black Lives Matter isn’t just a trend, we need to amplify the voices of our people who have been oppressed for so long.

What’s your personal style/beauty mantra?

My beauty mantra is to laugh always! I don’t like holding on to grudges for a long time; a little bird told me grudges lead to wrinkles 🙂

What do you love most about summer in Vancouver?

Biking along the sea wall and chilling at the beach!
