And, with early access to hot toy inventory, 12-year-old Méganne Dagenais, Toys"R"Us Canada’s chief play officer (CPO), has the insight scoop on these incredible playthings. Hi Méganne! Tell us a little about yourself to start!
Hi! My name is Méganne Dagenais, I am 12 years old and I am the CPO at Toys”R”Us Canada! I became the CPO for Toys”R”Us Canada by sending in a video on why I should get the job. Then I did a Skype interview with Toys”R”Us, and then a live interview. And next thing I know, they picked me. I was so excited!
Are there any trends when it comes to toys for Easter and spring 2020?
I’d say Lego is always a big trend. Right now, another big trend is anything related to movies, like Frozen 2. The new Elsa and Anna dolls featuring their outfits from the final scene in the movie will be a huge hit with fans!
What are your very favourites and why?
I don’t really have a favourite, I love them all! But if I really had to choose, the Razor A Kick Scooter is really cool because you can do all kinds of tricks on it and it makes for a super-smooth ride and I can take it with me anywhere. The latest L.O.L Surprise! Lights Glitter doll and the L.O.L Surprise! #Hairvibes doll are pretty awesome, too, because I can style their hair in all kinds of ways and have a lot of fun.
If you were stuck on a desert island and could only have one toy with you, what would it be?!
That’s a hard question. I think I would bring the Lego Friends Friendship Bus with me because it has everything you need for any adventure! It’s so unique and very realistic. I mean it even has a toilet and five beds for all your friends. It is so practical for wherever your adventure may take you!
