Hi Robert! Please tell us a bit about yourself to start.

I am originally from Michigan and began doing makeup over 10 years ago after finishing cosmetology school. I just fell in love with everything makeup related, and knew it was what I wanted to do career-wise. I then moved to New York and started building my portfolio and testing with photographers. After several years, I began working on celebrities, models and doing international campaigns.

What are some of the hottest beauty trends for summer?

I think summer makeup trends will definitely be about the eyes. Neon shades, bright and vibrant eyeshadow shades. Watercolour and pastel shades and graphic colourful eyeliner.

How can Catrice products help us achieve these looks?

The latest launches by Catrice are some of my favourites from the brand. The Badass BAE eyeshadow palette has those bright, very warm-toned shades that are on trend for summer 2020. This eyeshadow palette can also be used used wet with a wet/damp brush for a variety of liquid eyeliner looks, which are on trend for summer as well.

Let’s talk about bronzer: what are some of your dos and don’ts?

My favourite way to apply bronzer is to slowly start building along the perimeter of the forehead, hollows of the cheeks and lightly under the jawline. I also like to use one to two different shades of bronzer for the most realistic look, using the lightest shade to almost warm up the skin and then mixing both for a touch more depth. I find this technique really looks most realistic and photographs beautifully as well.

How about highlighter?

Highlighter is another step I never forget. I usually begin with a touch of highlighter around the tear ducts to open up the eyes, top of the cupid’s bow of the lips and high points of the cheeks. The cheeks I usually build slowly, as over-highlighting this area can be too much and/or overkill. Again, I start slowly and build to a desired level. Highlighter powders are my favourite for longevity as they tend to last longer than cream highlighters and can handle the warmth of the skin without wearing off and breaking down.

What are some of your favourite new launches from Catrice for summer?

My number 1 new-ness summer product is Catrice Prime and Fine Fixing Sprays. These are so great for so many reasons! I love to set foundation and powder with the Dewy Glow finishing spray, for a glowing and realistic appearance to the skin. The Multitalent Fixing Spray sets makeup, adds glow and hydration. It can also be used to dampen an eyeshadow brush for added eyeshadow intensity, or a liner brush to change eyeshadow to eyeliner.
