MOE’s Home Collection launched its new third-floor showroom last week, and what better way to celebrate than with a healthy competition? Design buffs know that getting a space just perfect can be a lifelong project, but MOE’s invited three incredibly buzzy young style and design bloggers to show what they could do in mere minutes.
The gist: bloggers were each given a bare-bones living room set onto which their creativity could be expended using a decor arsenal provided by MOE’s (we liked their little gold animal statuettes), while guests watched the sparks fly and sipped mango cocktails amid cool homeware offerings.
Jill Lansky of The August Diaries injected her space with West Coast sophistication courtesy of a brilliant blue ikat rug (which incidentally, our EIC Sarah loved as well).
Photographer Sophia Hsin found beauty in some burnished copper lamps that brought a touch of dark grace, perfect for adding interest to small spaces.
But in the end, voters cast in favour of Leonie Markhorst of Noa//Noir, for her sexily gothic living room accented with mounted animal skulls and set off with a moody urban skyline painting and mohair cushions. We have a winner! Be sure to familiarize yourself with this impeccable blogger, she’s goin’ places.
Our take? Watching these ladies whip up design magic in moments with MOE’s inspired us to update our own pads this Spring… maybe with an animal skull or two?
