When it comes to feeling connected to our community, one of our favourite ways to support local businesses is through our purchases. The local picks below are all from Vancouver-based and female-founded businesses, so we know we can feel good about these purchases (not to mention, recommending them to you!). —Vicki Duong
mala the brand. There’s nothing cosier than lighting a candle at home, but Mala the Brand makes it so much more rewarding by planting a tree with every candle ($27) purchased. Having collaborated with Vancouver influencers in the past (think Janice Joostema and Emma Leger), these soy candles routinely sell out upon every restock. Our personal faves from the new spring collection are the Clean Cotton and Mimosa editions.
supercrush. Sustainably sourced fabrics, ethically made and cute-to-boot, there are no bad hair days with Supercrush. Founded by a mother-daughter duo, these hair accessories are an Instagram fave—plus, they often partner with brands and businesses dedicated to doing good. The Skinny Leopard print ($16) is our go-to scrunchie for elevating any casual look.
apothekari. When it comes to deodorants, natural is always our preference. Since we don’t want to, well, sweat over the chemicals in traditional deodorants, we opt for clean alternatives that contain no aluminum, parabens or baking soda. Our go-to as of late: the Apothekari Natural Roll-on ($24) for its quick dry time and lack of irritation.
huha. Sustainable fabrics are a must for us when it comes to adding to our wardrobe—and our intimates are no exception. Our latest addition are Huha mineral undies ($85 for a three pack), made from eucalyptus trees and infused with zinc to promote vaginal health and ward off infection and odour-causing bacteria. Did we mention that they’re ultra comfy and super cute, too?
mifa & co. Set the mood with a Eucalyptus Mist ($38) from MIFA & Co. With a blend of lavender water, witch hazel, eucalyptus and tea tree essential oils it’s the perfect wind-down spray. A couple of spritzes on your pillow will help you feel like you’re at the spa while catching up on your zzzs.
kaju creations. Who doesn’t love a statement earring? Make sure your jewelry makes the right statement by being ethically and female made. We love this terrazzo print from Kaju Creations ($35) made out of polymer clay; they’re lightweight and easy to wear all day.
midnight paloma. A clean beauty fave, Midnight Paloma is always a part of our skin-care routine. The Detox Mask ($22) is a vanity staple; mix it with water, raw honey or yogurt depending on your skin type!
amara blue designs. When it comes to accessorizing, being able to customize pieces allows for a personal touch. We have been longtime fans of Amara Blue Designs, but the jewelry brand’s newest Birds of Paradise hand-stamped necklace ($70) is something special (and perfect for plant lovers). Get it in sterling silver and gold fill, as well as a variety of lengths.
blume. Wellness in a mug? Sign us up! Blume Latte Mixes ($20) are a favourite way to start the day; the Beetroot Blend, for one, makes a pretty pink latte that’s IG goals and good for boosting recovery post workout and detoxifying the liver.
stil classics. When it comes to getting it done, we’re pen-to-paper-type gals. The quarterly Stil Productivity Planner ($39) makes it easy to set goals and rituals, with sections for daily gratitude, listing important (and not-so-important) tasks and weekly reviews. You’ll find yourself more productive than ever!

I would love to try the Eucalyptus must first from MIFA &Co. I especially love lavender. The Huha undies sound amazing as well with Eucalyptus and Zinc. Thank you.
