Hi Sophia! Please tell us a bit about yourself and your life to start!

I am a 40-year-old mom of two, wife, teacher and lifestyle influencer. I enjoying spending my time with my little family, travelling (pre-pandemic, of course) and shopping online.

How do you use your platform to impact those who follow you?

I have created a fun and inspiring space on my platform where women (mainly mamas) come to get daily outfit inspo that is easily attainable with pieces they may already have in their closet. My favourite thing to do is style “onesweetpiece” a few different ways. My audience has come to really love this and find it useful.

As a teacher, how has school been during this very challenging year What would you like people to know about teaching during COVID-19?

I am a teacher-on-call by day and once schools closed in March I no longer worked. I was home with my minis acting as their teacher. When schools reopened in June I headed back to work and my kids went back in to their school. I was nervous to go to different schools and classes but once I started I felt completely comfortable. Staff and student safety is at the forefront at each and every school I have worked in. As teachers, we have to be flexible and show compassion and this has really been my motto all along. COVID-19 has impacted every one of us in some way but, if we keep our distance, wear masks and wash our hands, we can stay safe and find our way through this new normal.

What’s your personal style/beauty mantra?

I like to think of myself as a chic mom. While I do give into some of the seasonal trends I tend to have a classic and effortless style. I stick to closet staples and use them all year round. Neutrals are my best friend, and you can never wrong with a pair of high-waisted denim or a satin midi skirt!

Winter isn’t everyone’s favourite season, but how do you find pleasure in it/what do you love about it?

I was born in August and am a summer lover to the core. I honestly feel I could live without seasons. I always tell my husband this but he reminds me that I would miss “sweather weather” LOL! I try to enjoy all that the calendar year has to offer and I love a good holiday. Looking forward to long weekends and special days like Thanksgiving and Christmas make the winter and cold more enjoyable. I never miss a chance to decorate my home for a season or holiday change. I love the joy the winter season brings to my kids. Watching them experience winter activities like skiing, waiting for a snow day or looking forward to Santa makes my heart happy.

What’s your top winter 2020 product pick, and why?

My new fave must have item for this winter is a shacket: it’s a shirt and jacket all rolled into one, and it’s oh so versatile! I recently picked this one (in my photo) ($80) up from Hunni’s in Langley, B.C. I love the neutral plaid, and it can be worn so many different ways: as a jacket over an outfit, like a shirt with jeans or even as a dress!
