Hi Kaitlin! Please tell us a bit about your adorable self to start!

Hi!! If you follow me on IG you already know ALL about me, and if you don’t follow me … you should LOL. Basically, I’m a stepmom to two adorable little boys, Jackson and Eli, a fur mom to my 12-year-old baby boy Spanky, a girlfriend to the infamous Keith. A makeup artist by trade and most recently a watercolour artist and designer! I love dirty jokes and have the sense of humour of a tween boy. I’m an avid wine drinker and I hate ginger and cilantro. Pretty normal gal over here.

How did you hook up with Tiny Zen, and what made you excited/keen to collab with the brand?

Erin Sousa, who works with Tiny Zen Memory as their brand strategist, reached out to me to do a fun collab! Erin and I have worked together for a few years and she thought my artwork on Tiny Zen Memory’s jewelry would make some wicked pieces … turns out she was VERY right! I’m pretty sure I audibly “eeeeped” as soon as she suggested it. Never in a million years would I have thought my artwork would be on a line of jewelry … like seriously … pinch me.

Besides being cute, sassy and funny as heck (we’re avid @kaithargreaves IG story watchers; hi Keith and Spanky!), you’re an incredible artist; what was the inspo for the concepts you created for Tiny Zen?

Thank you! To be honest I didn’t really have a vision for the overall collection at first. I just started designing pieces that spoke to me, something meaningful that I would want to wear. When I took a step back and looked at the collection as a whole, I realized it definitely had a vibe of self love and exploration.

What are some of your favourite pieces from the range, and why?

My personal fave is the Guidance Compass/Mandala necklace. It was designed after a tattoo I have on my right shoulder. It symbolizes that life is never ending and everything is connected. The symmetry of it reflects balance and the nautical compass symbolizes guidance and protection. I think it’s my favourite because, besides it being stunning (if I do say so myself), it’s got a very safe, secure and grounding feeling about it. I also love all the dimension and texture to this piece.

Holidays are coming up quick! Favourite gifting ideas from the TZM x KH collection?

Literally anything from the collection would be a perfect gift! But the Element Necklaces are a no brainer! You can easily gift these based on the person’s astrological sign and personal traits, or simply based on the design on the pendant. The earth pendant would be great for those who love the outdoors and mountains or fire for the feisty ones with lots of enthusiasm! The possibilities are endless! You can also give the piece more meaning by engraving the back of the pendant with cute co-ordinates or a special date, name or word!

Have you heard of a “neck mess”? It’s all the rage right now as far as jewelry trends go. What collab pieces would you choose to layer around your neck?

To be honest I’m not very trendy, so I had to Google “neck mess”! That being said, it basically looks like those ladies who wear all of the jewelry they own at once, and for this I would say choose anything! The Guidance in gold is a nice piece with some weight and texture to it, layered with the Unity Map necklace in silver, add in an element necklace or two and then top it off with the herringbone chain from Tiny Zen Memory’s new arrivals!
