He wiped the snot away from your nose (with his own sleeve), cut the crusts off of your PB&J sandwiches and even mastered the "Elsa" braid—your dad rules! Show him he’s loved with a Father’s Day filled with thoughtful gifts, good grub and big hugs.
eight o’clock: Letting dad sleep in past, say, 8 a.m. would be a grand way to start his day. Follow that up with fresh coffee and we-could-be-in-Paris croissants in bed (at your pop’s place, of course).
ten o’clock: Send dad off for a classic hot lather shave ($55) at the Original Grooming Experts, 477 Richmond St. W, Toronto, 647-352-5649. Make sure he looks as smooth as his shave in a new shirt ($52) from Annex guy store Salt Chuck, 100 Harbord St., Toronto, 647-823-8433.
noon: For lunch, treat Dad to a stack of pork ribs and collared greens at Queen West’s Smoque N Bones, 869 Queen St. W, Toronto.
nine o’clock: Time to open a great bottle of whiskey for dad. We suggest you splurge on something a little more lavish than usual; it’s a special occasion after all.
Happy Father’s Day! —Athena Tsavliris
