Our admiration for Calgary-based women’s fashion brand SophieGrace is at an all-time high.
As part of its commitment to locally made, low-impact products, the label has created a three-piece collection made in Vancouver with sustainable Cupro satin fabric. The trio of items—a collared “popover” shirt, loose-fitting tank and bias-cut skirt—are designed to work seamlessly with the full SophieGrace collection and as solid separates in any woman’s wardrobe.
But there’s more to these fashions, with each piece named after one of the brilliant women who have contributed to COVID-19 vaccine revelations and advancements: Dr. Kizzmekia S. Corbett, a viral immunologist whose research paved the way for the vaccines; Katalin Karikó, the Hungarian biochemist behind the Pfizer vaccine; and professor Sarah Gilbert, designer of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine. —Vita Daily
