One Of Our Favourite Sips Wins Big (Recipe!)

February 18, 2021

One of our favourite B.C.-made sips won big at the recent Artisan Distillers Canada Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition! Ampersand Distilling Company, in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, took top honours for its Nocino!—an Italian-style green walnut liqueur made with walnuts handpicked in the valley and sweetened with local honey. Here’s a winning recipe you can mix up at home! —Vita Daily

1-1/4 oz Nocino!
1 oz Rye
1/4 oz lemon juice
2 dashes of Angostura bitters

Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Squeeze a lemon peel over the drink to express the oils and then drop in the glass.
