Neil Lane Checks Into The Fairmont To Plan Your Wedding

July 27, 2021

Want Neil Lane to help plan your wedding without joining the cast of a certain singles-seeking-forever TV show? You’re in luck.

The jewelry designer and bridal authority is lending his keen eye and exquisite taste to wedding celebration design with the launch of a partnership with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. For the first time ever, couples will have exclusive access to consult with Neil Lane (well, the first 10 to sign up for the service, anyway) and a dedicated team of pro Fairmont wedding planners who have been entrusted to bring his creative vision to life.

“We want to make you the day of your dreams, something that represents your unique love story,” states Lane simply from his home in Los Angeles. “You start with the ring, sure, but you build on all of that romance to create something bespoke. If a couple wants red roses, you find out the meaning behind that and highlight it throughout. I’m excited to be a part of that process for people.”

Available at properties across North and Central America, the Fairmont Weddings by Neil Lane package merges Lane’s passion for design (each wedding will be inspired by one of Lane’s six signature styles: romantic, lavish, modern, elegant, rustic and vintage) with the extraordinary expertise, iconic venues, luxury offerings and thoughtful services for which Fairmont is known. The offering, which includes, of course, wedding planning, but also save-the-dates from the Neil Lane by Paper Source collection (each set inspired by a piece of vintage jewelry from Neil’s studio), a cocktail-making session to create a one-of-a-kind cocktail inspired by the couple to be served at the cocktail hour and reception, curated favours for the wedding party including monogrammed robes, slippers, personalized Le Labo amenities, luxury pajamas and sleep masks, the opportunity to take engagement photos on the grounds (potentially with exclusive access to areas not typically open to the public), a private shopping sess for the engaged couple and their best man/maid of honour at the hotel or a local luxury retailer to select attire for all the wedding activities and a private dinner with a Fairmont executive chef for the couple and four guests.

“In the last year-and-a-half we’ve definitely seen a return to small, intimate weddings—this isn’t going anywhere,” says Lane, adding thaty “virtual weddings are likely going to stick around, too, because you can have guests, like your elderly grandparents, there who may not be able to travel to your wedding.” When a technical issue interrupted our own interview, he joked, “If there’s a Zoom glitch, just have it at the Fairmont.”

As for the engagement ring, you’ll have to figure that one out yourself. Lane can, however, provide some insight on trends—though he says just because some weddings have become smaller, rings have not followed suit.

“I’m seeing a lot of vintage, a lot of Art Deco designs; lots of detail on many rings, and unusual shapes for the stone,” he says. “On the other hand—no pun intended—simplicity is also in, and I’ve noticed an uptick in platinum.”

The Fairmont Weddings by Neil Lane package is available for booking through the end of 2021, for weddings taking place through the end of 2022. —Noa Nichol
