8 Halloween-Themed Beauty Buys

October 13, 2021

It’s not a trick; when it comes to Halloween we’re all about turning looks. Whether you’re staying in and handing out candy or heading to a costume party, getting ready for spooky season is made easier with these Halloween-themed beauty products. —Vicki Duong

ardell. Perfect for those who want to be on theme but don’t have time to get a costume, these Spooky Lashes ($5) from Ardell’s Fright Night collection add a bewitching touch to any makeup look. Designed to look like spiderwebs, these strip lashes have the same high-quality as regular Ardell lashes with a lightweight curved band that help brighten and enlarge your peepers.

suva beauty. Get grungy in the best way with the Grunge palette ($39) from Suva Beauty. The high-quality hydra liners promise intense pigment payoff when activated with water that won’t budge until removal. Worried that no one will see your work of art at a dimly lit party or haunted house? Worry not, these liners glow-in-the-dark under UV lights for an extra-terrestrial worthy glow.

kylie cosmetics. Leave it Kylie to kill it when it comes to Halloween collabs. Her latest cosmetic collab is with A Nightmare on Elm Street for some seriously spooky offerings. The entire collection showcases the brand’s attention to detail with “blood” splattered packaging and limited edition lip products and eyeshadow palettes but the one we have our eye on is the new product, lip and cheek jelly stain ($17 USD). The new formula offers a soft wash of red that can be worn minimally or built up for an intense flush.

colourpop cosmetics. What’s Halloween if not the perfect opportunity to catch up on your fave scary movies? One of our personal faves, Hocus Pocus recently came out with a limited edition eye-shadow palette, Witching Hour ($22 USD) with ColourPop Cosmetics. The neutral mattes paired with bold shimmers will have you summoning the Sanderson sisters while creating trend-driven looks with this nostalgia-inducing palette.

bh cosmetics. Pick your poison with BH Cosmetics’ newest collection, Poison Shock. We’re loving the liquid shadows ($9 USD) that offer a duo-chrome finish that dries down to a smudgeproof punch of colour. Our personal faves are Absinthe ($9 USD), a deep forest green and Scorpion Sting, a classic copper that can be worn year-round.

quo beauty. Long nails year-round might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but when it comes to getting Halloween-ready sometimes long nails complete the look like no other. We have been loving using press-on nails for a quick mani transformation. Our go-to as of late is the faux nail kits for Quo Beauty ($15) that come with 24 nails in various sizes and nail glue for an Instagram manicure-ready look.

lush. OK, these babies are for bath, but they’re seasonally right on point. This year our pals at Lush have brought back a few Halloween faves along with new and fa-boo-lous limited-edition treats to fill your bath and shower routines with wicked fun, colours and chills. Creep on such ethical and handmade goodies like Ghost in the Dark soap ($9) and Ectoplasm shower slime ($9) to summon the perfect Halloween evening.

bonus: girlgod. When in doubt and strapped for time when it comes to getting Halloween ready, throw on a glam make-up look at animal ears for a costume appropriate look. We’ll be the first to admit that sometimes a bold cat eye, all-black outfit and cat ears does the trick. We love the different lacy cat ears available at Girlgod ($9) for a flirty way to show off our animal instincts.
