Go Cordless & Cosy With KitchenAid (Win!)

November 2, 2021

Wintertime, and the cooking is cosy—and cordless, thanks to KitchenAid‘s suite of appliances that help whip up the yummiest comfort food without pesky plugs and cords. KitchenAid’s cordless chopper, hand blender and mixer are super convenient and affordable without comprising the quality you expect from the brand. (Living small in a condo or apartment? These babies are the perfect space savers, too.) Check out their features below—plus a great cold-weather recipe—and enter to win KitchenAid’s Cordless Suite! —Vita Daily

kitchenaid cordless hand blender ($180). Lightweight, easy to handle and can blend 25 bowls of soup on a full charge, this cordless hand blender boasts a four-point stainless steel blade design that ensures ingredients are easily turned into perfect purees, smoothies, milkshakes, soups, hummus and more. The variable speed trigger allows for greater flexibility and control over the recipe and the removable pan guard helps to protect your cookware.

kitchenaid cordless 5-cup chopper ($180). No need to cry: this baby chops up to 40 onions on a full charge, plus mixes, chops and purees to perfection thanks to its multi-purpose stainless steel blades. It includes two-speed settings to control how fast or slow it chops, ensuring you get the results they want, and a handy whisking accessory lets you whisk, whip, stir and make whipped cream.

kitchenaid cordless 7-speed hand mixer ($180). Baking season beware: use this mixer to make up to 200 cookies on a full charge. With seven speeds, stir mix and whip favourite recipes at the perfect pace, featuring slow stirring for chunky ingredients, medium speeds for creaming butter and sugar and high speed to whip egg whites and heavy creams. The Soft Start feature brings the beaters up to the selected speed gradually to help prevent ingredients from splattering. and the beater ejector button with Stainless Steel Turbo Beater accessories are designed to thoroughly mix ingredients. Designed to stand all on its own, the beaters don’t need to rest on a bowl or workspace.

Creamy Cauliflower Soup

¼ cup (54g) olive oil
1 medium (110g) white onion, diced
3 (9 g) garlic cloves, peeled and mined
1 large (72g) carrot, ½ ” quarter chop
2 (80g) celery stalks, ½” chop
3 pounds (600g) cauliflower, broken into florets
4-5 cups (32-48 ounces) broth of choice
1 teaspoon (6g) salt
1 teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon lemon zest
⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
½ cup (120 mL) heavy cream
¼ cup (15g) packed fresh Italian parsley, minced

Heat your dutch oven on medium high heat and add olive oil to hot pan. Add the onions, garlic, carrots and celery and, stirring constantly, saute until onions are translucent, about four minutes. Add cauliflower and broth to the pot. Stir mixture to fully incorporate all ingredients, reduce heat to medium, and cover the pot. Allow to simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until cauliflower is fork tender. Turn off heat and add heavy cream, salt, pepper, nutmeg and lemon zest. Fit the pan guard onto your KitchenAid Cordless Hand Blender blending arm, then attach the arm to the motor body. Fully submerge the blending arm into the soup and, with arm at a slight angle in the soup, press the variable speed controller for 2 seconds. Submerge the blending arm in a different part of the pot and, while holding it at a slight angle, press the variable speed controller for 2 more seconds. Proceed to blend portions of the soup in 2 second intervals until soup is creamy and some cauliflower florets remain for texture. Remove the blender from the soup. Stir in minced parsley and serve hot. Note: This soup can be blended to desired consistency, including a completely smooth soup.
