Hot Shop: The Kent

November 5, 2021

Behind a blue dotted door in downtown Vancouver is a renovated and rentable space, The Kent. This former office block has been transformed by owner Dave Nickel into a luxury city escape. The Kent recently opened for limited bookings for one year, as the building is scheduled for demolition in late 2022; but, in the meantime, the location is available for bespoke events.

The interior was designed by Wendy Williams Watt—the artist behind the famed Love Ball. The Kent’s three storeys are filled with beautiful details, including crystal chandeliers, custom furniture and curated artwork, dual private dining rooms, a full bar and a commercial kitchen.

Our favourite corner: the kid-friendly basement art studio, complete with paint, brushes, canvases and a climbing wall. This camera-ready location will be available for limited bookings until October 2022. —Lyndi Barrett
