With its ranging, eclectic lineup, it can be tough choosing what Calgary Folk Music Festival shows to attend. Here’s what we’ll be catching this year:
Rufus Wainwright: Grammy nominee, singer-songwriter (and Canadian!), Rufus takes to the main stage to swoon his way further into our hearts. We can’t wait to watch him perform his signature combo of soulful ballads and fun party hits—he’s pretty easy on the eyes, too.
Hey Rosetta! What’s not to love about this six-person band, led by Tim Baker, from Newfoundland? Always on the road, exploring and performing all over the world, their music invokes some serious wanderlust in us. Plus, they’re known to kill it at festivals.
The Jayhawks: This legendary American alt-country band, performing since the mid-’80s, only seems to get better with age. This summer they’re touring to promote some of their greatest hits. We’re excited. —Sara Samson
