The Vancouver Christmas Market Is Back

November 17, 2021

It’s never too early to start feeling festive … and never too late for a hot mulled wine!

After a one-year hiatus, Vancouver’s beloved Christmas Market is back, this time with new features, more vendors and a free carousel. The Vancouver Christmas Market—the only European holiday market in Lower Mainland—is officially open for the season, until December 24, at Jack Poole Plaza (downtown Vancouver at the Olympic Cauldron). This year, te market has added 30 new vendors for visitors to enjoy. Check out to the new Gourmetstrasse (walk past the Love Lock installation and through Love Lane) to get a taste of the holidays via THOSE Pretzels, Breadymix (German Bread Made by You), Haxen Haus and Two Sweet Elves (who can say no to croffles with Nutella?). Also new is the ability to reserve a 30-minute arrival slot through an online reservation system (but feel free to stay as long as you like!) for a guaranteed entry time that manages visitor flow for a more enjoyable on-site experience. And don’t forget the market’s top tradition: the HOLIDAYLIFE Carousel presented by Interac is back and absolutely free of charge, with an option to keep the seasonal spirit going by making a donation to Make-A-Wish Canada.

The Vancouver Christmas Market also offers a variety of local entertainers performing from the Flying Stage on the second storey of the Christmas Pyramid. For full lineup, visit the event website.—Louisa Chan
